Safety First
The UK has one of the best health and safety records in the world. As an industry, we should be justly proud of that, says TSEU. But, in a changing world, we cannot stand still and, where appropriate working methods must change and - if necessary - change radically. TSEU is striving to continually improve Health and Safety within its workforce.
As with any responsible company, TSEU sees a key part of its mission is to protect the health and safety of employees and others by ensuring that risks both in the workplace and in the industry as a whole are properly controlled.
A well established health and safety department continually strives to protect employees by providing information, training and instruction on all aspects of health and safety within the industry.
All operatives who work at height, for example, are issued with full body harnesses and pole straps and high quality ratchet straps for securing their ladders. Falls from height are thankfully rare in the Highway Electrical Industry and TSEU is determined to ensure they stay that way. To ensure compliance with new Regulations and to monitor changes to existing regulations TSEU are members of the British Safety Council, ASLEC, CHAS, Construction Line and the HSE Working Well Together Campaign.
Communication is vitally important within the company. Employees are often best able to spot issues and bring about real improvements. They can also influence health and safety through their own actions and by accepting personal responsibility. TSEU has a well established committee of Representatives of employee safety who meet regularly to openly discuss all issues affecting staff. In addition, the company participates actively in a number of high profile industry bodies and schemes.

TSUK is a registered training organisation and Approved Trainers deliver high quality Health and Safety training in accordance with the relevant training specification.
Working Well Together Campaign
By working closely with stakeholders TSUK aims to permanently improve health and safety across the industry. To achieve this aim the company has identified four key objectives. Commitment to high standards, Competence by ensuring everyone is properly trained, Communication between staff and managers and Co-operation to make sure that standards and process are right first time.
